Dingy Rack Slider

Besides having a slip in a great location we also have a dingy rack on the dock right next to us with an older Seaworthy dingy and 5hp Mariner. The rack that the dingy sits on is made of 2x4's and is just too tight to easily slide the dingy in and out of. It's actually a big pain in the butt with the dingy always catching on the horizontal ribs. In order to make getting the dingy in and out of it's rack easier I have a plan of creating some pvc pipe slides. It should be easy but some road block always seem to pop up even on the easiest jobs. Photos to come. The idea is super simple. Add some 60" pvc pipes spaced 16" appart on top of the horizontal 2x4's. The pipes will be perpendicular to the 2x4's and parallel to the direction that the dingy get's slided. I will start with that simple upgrade first. I then may make additional sliders on top of those pipes consisting of larger diameter PVC and make a small plate connecting the two. The thought is that I'd then have a non corroding sliding plate to put the nose of the dingy on and then pick up the stern and slide the whole thing in and out. I'll hopefully have something to show this weekend.
